With responsibility to deliver a £50million+ portfolio of projects on government properties across the globe, we deliver a huge range of critical construction projects for our customers – everything from small refurbishments to new embassy builds, from building secure bunkers to carrying out flood or earthquake repairs. Join us, and you’ll get to oversee every aspect of these unique projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and to budget, and that they achieve the high levels of quality demanded by our Government customers.

Oversee complex projects from beginning to end

You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of multiple construction-related projects which could be worth up to £20m and ranging all the way from rewiring jobs to brand new design and builds. As well as planning and defining  the work schedule for each project, and making sure all the right contracts and resources are in place, you will be expected to manage your project’s budgets, identify, manage and mitigate potential risks and find solutions to any issues that may arise and deal effectively with project change. In particular, you will need to solve the many logistical challenges that come with deploying people and resources all over the globe.

Throughout all your work, whether you’re assisting in pricing up a job, negotiating and administering agreements with contractors, contributing to front-end design, meeting with stakeholders and chairing site meetings or helping deliver the final build, you will always be focused on increasing value for money and improving the quality of the products and services we deliver to our clients.  You will also be called upon to pass on your expertise by coaching and mentoring other Project Managers within the organisation

You know how to make big projects happen

We’re looking for an experienced project manager with a track record of working on large, complex construction projects. You must be a PRINCE2 practitioner (or have APMP qualifications), have a working knowledge of CDM and construction Health and Safety and be a member of RIBA, RICS, ICE, IStructE, CIOB or CIBSE. Experience of administering NEC3 contracts is also essential.

Given the critical nature of the projects you’ll be working on, it is important that you know how to manage multiple stakeholders and can communicate effectively not only with clients but with everyone involved in making it happen. It’s also important that you are someone who can always deliver, even when you’re having to work on several projects at once, and no matter how challenging or fast-paced the environment gets.

And take your career somewhere completely new

At FCO Services, we keep information, assets and people safe all around the world. Our customers, who include the Foreign & Commonwealth Office as well as other UK Government departments, look to us to respond with speed, agility and innovation to their ever-changing security and accommodation challenges. It also offers an unusual level of variety and scope, not only in terms of the kind of projects you get to manage but the kind of buildings you get to work on and occasionally travel to as well. From fine residences to embassies, secure compounds to office blocks, you’ll be making a vital impact in unique locations all over the world.

All our employees have to be security cleared, so you will need to undergo a comprehensive vetting process before joining.

Closing date for applications: 30th November 2018.
