Position:                                 Quantity Surveyor

 

Reporting to:                         Senior Quantity Surveyor/Senior Commercial Manager

 

Location:                                       UK - Various Locations

 

Hours:                                            Full Time Permanent

 

 

 

Main Purpose:           

 

 

 

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the commercial and contractual management of various projects for various Clients.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities;

 

The following reflect the main tasks associated with this position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:

 

  • Manage, as part of a team and/or individually, the commercial function through to final accounts, overseeing financial aspects of the project
  • Interpret the contract to fully understand the project scope, deliverables, constraints and responsibilities
  • Improve and implement best practice commercial processes and accurate budgeting
  • Prepare accurate progress reports, cash flow forecasts and cost preliminaries
  • Provide commercial guidance on project performance through accurate forecasting and risk identification
  • Ensure the Project Team adheres to all contractual requirements and deliverables
  • Identify and price variations/compensation events as and when they occur
  • Manage procurement process to ensure timely delivery of project equipment and materials
  • Represent the Company’s best interests at project meetings
  • Prepare estimates for projects where required at tender stage
  • Job Requirements;

     

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
  • Main Contractor experience with exposure to NEC Options A, B & C and JCT Form of Contracts or similar
  • Proven track record in managing all commercial aspects of construction from inception to completion
  • Remeasurement skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read, understand and organize construction plans and specifications
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal structure while exercising great judgment
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines
