Marine Electrician/Engineer job vacancy in Plymouth area
Your new company
You will be working for a locally based Marine M&E contractor. They provide companies or individual clients with anything from Electrical fault finding to full Electrical rewire and refurbishments. Specifically within yacht's, boat's or other marine vessel's. They provide electrical installation for some of the biggest commercial marine vessel manufacturers in the southwest. A place that is thriving with work opportunities within the marine industry. They will also provide a service around the country on occasion.
Your new role
You will be working prominently from your van picking up contracted or one off jobs for your employer. Going out to boats, yachts, marine vessels to install electrical systems or find faults and repair the existing electrical system. Your working week will be 39 hours, Monday to Friday. You will generally be working in Plymouth and the surrounding areas. People within the existing team will work away from time to time and you will be expected to do this also. Digs and travel will be covered and this will likely be for a few days every couple of months as this work is rotated fairly.
What you'll need to succeed
A valid UK drivers licence is essential as a company vehicle will be provided and you will need to travel. Experience and even enthusiasm for Boats & yachts would be desirable as when dealing with clients you will need to know what you're talking about. Qualifications as either an electrician, mechanical engineer or a marine engineer will be required. The client can be flexible around what qualification you have depending on your work experience and general knowledge of boats and their electrical systems.
What you'll get in return
£25,000 per annum + company vehicle. There is the opportunity of overtime and people that are willing to pick up extra work can earn anywhere up to £50,000 per annum. You will receive 23 days paid holiday each year, and have the opportunity to meet new industry contacts within a very unique and exciting job role.
