We have an exciting requirement for an O, M and Rolling Stock Expert to work in a client-side role in the UAE. The candidate placed in this position will be responsible for the overall operation, safety and efficiency of the line as well as providing technical supervision of locomotive and wagons facilities maintenance, which includes research, testing, condition monitoring, investigations, modifications, specifications and planning.



  • High level responsibility for the safety operation, working with the safety manager, and the independent safety assessor;
  • High level management of the operation control center, depot control center, and the stations operation;
  • Develop the safety operation strategy and procedures, safety cases, degraded operation;
  • Maintain a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices so as to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors operating on the project
  • Assist in the development of the maintenance strategy for rolling stock and locomotives. This will include all procedures and manuals
  • Develop a rolling stock maintenance equipment requirement for shot/long term reliability
  • Review, initiate, direct and implement research to ensure the ongoing application of new technology in maintenance activities
  • Act as a primary contact for the implementation of quality assurance within rolling stock department, through involvement and participation so as to ensure a timely integration of the Q&A
  • Develop an asset protection strategy in conjunction with train operations and track facilities.


  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or relevant subject
  • Approx 5 years’ experience in heavy haul rolling stock maintenance
  • Experience in heavy haul railway operations
  • Knowledge of design of railway infrastructure
  • Knowledge of rail safety and compliance standards
  • Knowledge of railway operations
  • Knowledge of railway construction and operation, preferable heavy freight railway
