Operational Support grade, HMP Bristol, Monday to Friday, Long term temporary position
As the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of security & support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit Operational Support Grades (OSGs) for HMP Bristol. Your new role will be at an easy accessible prison just outside the city centre, HMP Bristol.
Your new role
You will be working as part of the security team assisting the contractors as they carry out maintenance and ongoing project developments at the prison. Your duties will include searching visitors and contractors, tool checks and escorting contractors around the prison site. The role is currently for 18 months but may well run for longer off the back of the current project.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need no formal qualifications. However, you will need to be security conscious, level headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills. You will also have good ability to work as a team to achieve goals. Immediate start if you are already prison security cleared. You must hold a Valid Passport or Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence in your current address. All applicants must be able to provide details of 2 satisfactory references, at least one from an ex-employer.

This role also gives you a unique opportunity to see the everyday running of prison life and could well lead to long term employment opportunities with the prison service as an OSG or Prison Officer.
