We are delighted to be working with a well-established and respected social-housing provider operating across the North East to recruit a Technical Officer to the Property Team on a permanent basis. You will work closely with the Technical Manager to deliver a first-class service to the organisation's residents, which this organisation is particularly proud of and is proven in recent customer satisfaction scores.
Your new role
Your role as Technical Officer will be to provide excellent services to customers across all planned, cyclical and responsive maintenance works on the organisation's residential properties.
You will manage nearly 2,000 properties in your designated area, to deliver largely responsive repairs such as condition surveys, fault-finding, diagnosing property issues, plan schedule of works to be carried out and notify the allocated sub-contractor, post work inspections and void inspections.
For planned maintenance, you will also be required to manage you time effectively and balance your workload across the two work-streams, which will be around all improvements to the homes i.e. bathrooms, roofing and kitchens.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and competencies:
- Degree in Building Surveying (or a construction related discipline)
- Sound knowledge of building and construction processes and trades
- Practical building maintenance/repair experience
- Ability to work as part of a team, sharing information and assisting colleagues where necessary.
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong IT skills
- Full driving license
