Building Surveyor - Conditions & Defects
Your new company
Your new business are looking to recruit an ambitious and determined Building Surveyor, who with support, development, and the right attitude, will become a director of the business within the next few years.
Your new company is a fast growing consultancy with an impressive track record in supplying high net worth clients with building consultancy and project management services in South West London and The West End.
They provide a mixture of Project Management and Building Surveying services for residential properties, from repairs and refurbishments, to new build projects and extensions.
Your new role
Your new role will be to work as a senior surveyor as part of the company's Building Surveying team, supporting junior team members and leading from the front on client instructions.
With clients predominantly based in the West End, generally consisting of Private Owners and Landlords, you will be responsible for carrying out Building Surveys and Condition reports on High End Residential Properties across Kensington, Fulham and Chelsea predominantly, noting required or advisory repairs, and producing specifications and schedules for work, whether internal refurbishments, external decorations, roofing repairs / replacements or window upgrades.
You will also be responsible for providing contract administration on building works, working closely with the project management team to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you must hold a relevant degree in Building Surveying, Building Studies or an equivalent subject, at a minimum of diploma level (Preferably Bachelor's or higher).
You will need to be able to present to clients, communicating clearly and concisely, and able to develop rapport with your customer base. As your clients are generally high net worth individuals you will need the ability to manage their expectations (which will be extremely high) maintaining strong communication throughout every instruction.
You will drive business development and focus on generating fees (for which you will be rewarded with an attractive bonus) which you will be expected to bill at a minimum of 2 x annual salary.
You will ideally be a full member of the RICS, however AssocRICS and MCIOB are also bonuses.
What you'll get in return
In return, and for what is a small company, you will receive a competitive salary, starting at between £40000 and £45000 dependent on experience (which is likely to increase at each annual salary review) an attractive biannual bonus based on performance (up to 10% salary) free gym membership & business travel expenses paid for.
With the right attitude and exemplary performance, progression to the level of director will be attainable after 2 years in the role, with partnership at the business on offer after a further two years of commitment.
