A public sector organisation based in Nottinghamshire is looking for a freelance/temporary Estates Surveyor to work within the Commercial sector after a re-organisation.
Your new role
You will be an Estates Surveyor expected to undertake a wide range of Property Management, valuation and professional services as a senior professional in the in-house Estates Practice, which supports the delivery of the Council's Corporate Property Strategy, Property Asset Management Plan and Service Asset Management Plans.
What you'll need to succeed
-Relevant degree level qualification and/or relevant and commensurate educational attainment including working towards full membership of the RICS.
-Deep understanding of the knowledge skills and attitudes required of a property professional
-Knowledge of the UK planning system and property law
-Knowledge of Council Financial Regulations, its Constitution and Freedom of Information and Data protection legislation.
-Demonstrable experience of working within a Corporate Landlord or strategic property function
-Leadership and management experience of more junior staff, working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including senior officers, County and District Councillors, Parish Councils, community groups, schools and with external private and public sector partners and voluntary groups.
-Evidence of political sensitivity and successful working with Elected Members and stakeholders with overlapping and conflicting interests
-Commercial awareness and experience of working in a commercial environment
-Presentation and high level communication skills, including drafting and presenting formal reports and briefing and discussion papers
-Deploying analytical and problem solving skills to address complex issues and conflicting interests
-Demonstrable experience of balancing and managing competing priorities to deadlines
-Negotiating and concluding agreements to dispose of and acquire and and property
-Negotiating and agreeing leases and licences and dilapidation
What you'll get in return
The role will be based in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire on a 5 day week basis although part-time will be considered. Interviewed candidates will be interviewed with an initial telephone call followed up by a face to face interview.
