Your new company
You will be working as a Chartered Structural Engineer for one of the world's most respected design, engineering consultancies. Your new company provides multidisciplinary engineering services and integrated solutions across a wide range of projects relating to buildings and infrastructure within Transportation, Education, Commercial, Residential, Defence and Energy.
Your new role
You will be reporting to the practice manager working as a Chartered Principal Structural Engineer out of their Birmingham office, with a focus on business development in the transport sector. Responsibilities among others will be to lead the delivery of transport sector projects to a high level of quality and client satisfaction, whilst acting as Contractor Responsible Engineer, Lead Structural Engineer and/or Design Manager. You will be the point of contact for clients, contractors, design team and third parties, as well as providing leadership for technical delivery. You will also build client relationships and help identify business opportunities. Reporting into the Practice Manager this role is ideal for a current Senior Structural Engineer who is looking for the next step in their career.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be a technically excellent engineer who holds a MIStructE or MICE. You should be experienced in structural engineering within the transport sector; incl. design of rail station buildings, footbridges etc. You should also be familiar with BIM and possess and understanding of 3D modelling tools for design and coordination purposes. You should have proven experience on developing projects from concept to construction stage with the ability to manage and work to budget and program. Having excellent communication and presentation skills that can support client relationships, assist in preparing bids and generally enhance work winning capability is key. You should be a strong decision maker and act on your own initiative, whilst working under pressure. You will also need to hold a UK driving licence.
What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a highly competitive salary of between £40,000 and £55,000, depending on experience along with pension contributions and a car allowance.
