Your new company
Your new company is a specialist groundworks and civil engineering company that has experienced significant growth in recent years. As a company they are focused on customer service, completing work safely, on time and to a high standard. Their projects generally include new build housing developments.. Projects vary in size but can be up to £25m-£30m. They are now seeking a Contracts Manager to join their dynamic team.
Your new role
The head office is based in Northampton however they are seeking a Contracts Manager to run multiple projects in Cambridge and report into the office twice a week. You will be required to manage multiple sites, liaising between the construction team on site and the client to ensure deadlines are met (e.g. CMLs) and work is completed safely, to a high-standard but with the project making the levels of profit we'd expect. You will report directly to the company Build Manager and Managing Director with weekly meetings to review the status of each site. Your role will include close co-operation with the commercial team to understand the technical aspects of the project. You will also be required to operate independently at times and make business decisions.
What you'll need to succeed
A CSCS Black card necessary and you must be driven, hungry to progress with business acumen. You will need to be personable and able to deal with clients in a suitable manner and manage on-site construction teams. Must be able to cope in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Organised with the ability to work to tight schedules and deal with unexpected requirements/short deadlines. You will need to be able to work alone with the capability to problem solve and make difficult decisions if necessary. What you'll get in return
