MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: Responsible to the Site Manager, for assisting in the efficient co-ordination of painting and decorating and associated works on commercial and domestic properties. To support the Site Manager in ensuring that all Painting and Decorating and associated works are carried out to the correct time frame and are to the correct standard and quality by leading an efficient team of painters and decorators. To communicate with the operational teams, subcontractors and residents, ensuring that targets and quality controls are met at all times. Also ensuring all pre site surveys are carried out and any specialist plant or scaffolding is arranged in time for commencement of works. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure that employees and subcontractors fully complete all appropriate paperwork in relation to accidents, industrial injuries, losses of equipment etc. Undertake timely accident investigations in conjunction with a senior manager as requested. Carry out regular quality control checks, ensuring all projects are fully signed off in line with specifications. Provide correct legible paperwork and quotes within specified timelines. Undertake necessary training for your role as and when required. Ensure all works carried out comply with current Health & Safety, environmental and other relevant legislation. To communicate any changes/updates directly with customers and members of the Investment works team and any relevant subcontractor. Working with the site manager to ensure objectives are set and performance is measured through appraisals, PDP's and regular reviews. Establish and organise the priorities of works required to different work elements within the kitchen & bathroom Programme. GENERAL Assist in the control of the direct labour team and Subcontractors, monitor performance. Ensure the implementation of all CPS policies with regard to employees. Carry out pre and post inspections. Liaise with external auditors and act on or implement any changes or remedial work as necessary. Assist with the swift and acceptable resolution of any complaints/disputes and recalls that may arise and manage these proactively within the guide lines set by the Client. Ensure that all operatives are aware of and receive training in all relevant H&S issues. To assist in chairing and recording all tool box talks. Enforcing relevant Health & Safety regulations and COSHH data to be maintained and updated for the team. Manage and review accident reports to ensure that all are recorded in a timely manner and that procedures are followed and follow ups are used in all team talks.
PROFESSIONAL/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Ideally educated to GCSE or equivalent levels to include English and Math's. Minimum 5 years in refurbishment works with supervisory field or related service provision.
Level of Qualification Completion of a recognised apprenticeship in a similar related field and/or must have a minimum of NVQ Level II or its equivalent i.e. relevant City & Guilds Basic Certificate. Appropriate CSCS card of equivalent.
