After a significant amount of planning and preparation construction work is slowly starting to flow through in the rebuild ofChristchurch. Although not fully up to speed clients are seeing a clear shortage of specialist already starting to appear and as such are planning further ahead for their recruitment needs. This particular client is well established in the construction industry throughout the country and has on their portfolio a significant number of NewZealand's iconic buildings.

Traditional specialists in commercial construction, the devastation ofChristchurchhas meant they've had to broaden their workload to include a wider diversity of projects. One such area of focus specific toChristchurchis the repair of heritage or listed buildings. Many of the brick based buildings were severely damaged in the earthquakes and many of them have been since demolished. As such there is a concerted effort to repair those structures that remain in an attempt to retain the unique feel ofChristchurch.

Heritage Site Manager is a key position to deal with this area of construction. They have already secured a $35million, 3 year project that the successful applicant will be assigned to. It's highly likely that there will more of these projects to come and as such this team could grow significantly over the next 12 months.

The ideal candidate will have come from a trade background and will have a minimum of 10 years in the construction sector. A high level of experience in heritage or listed building restoration or repair is a must with additional experience in wider construction an added bonus. As Site Manager you'll be comfortable organising trades and subcontractors and keeping the project moving along. Projects will range in size and as such previous similar experience would be desirable.

The successful candidate can expect an excellent salary as part of a larger package.
