Our client is a specialist environmental consultancy which provides a range of environmental services across the UK for clients in both the public and private sector. With a highly qualified team of ecologists they are well placed to provide a full range of ecological services, including flora and fauna surveys, mitigation schemes and EIA.
Due to a continued increase in workload the company urgently seeks an experienced Ecologist to join their team based in Leeds.

Academic Qualifications - Candidates for this role are anticipated to hold relevant qualifications including BSc / MSc in Ecology/ Zoology/ Biology or similar.
Professional Qualifications - Candidates should possess full IEEM membership and ideally
hold at least one protected species licence eg Bats or GCN.

Experience - Applicants for this opportunity must have previous ecological consultancy experience including field surveying, mitigation, report writing and preparing EPS licence applications. The client would be particularly interested to receive applications from individuals with strong botanical identification skills.

Salary- £20,000 plus - negotiable on skills and experience

Planning and undertaking field surveys: protected species, habitat and botanical. Report writing, including chapters for Environmental statements and EIA. Designing and implementing ecological mitigation schemes.
Project management.
Liaising with clients and stakeholders. Preparing licence applications.
Assisting directors in business development and marketing activities where possible.

The position offers the scope for an experienced Ecologist to undertake a broad range of ecology projects and due to the specialist nature of the company, employees are actively encouraged to continue to develop their own niche areas of interest such as ornithology, botany, mammals or freshwater. The current project portfolio covers a wide variety of markets and as such you may work on Transport, Residential, Leisure and Renewable Energy Projects.
