With turnover close to £200m, and projects ranging from Design & Build projects of £30m down to £1m all within the South East, they are a client that are well known as being a truly professional specialist sub contractor able to deliver projects to specification and on time.
Duties and Responsibilities
To assist the Design Manager in the preparation of proposal designs for the tendering and marketing of company system applications.
To produce final designs to the required codes and standards for designated projects as required by company contracts under the direction of the Design Manager.
To assist with the coordination and production (including drafting) of required company design drawings and construction shop drawings as per the Construction program requirements.
To provide technical support to the Operations manager and site personnel as appropriate.
To perform site inspections and approvals for company designed projects as per the construction requirements as nominated by the Design Manager.
To assist the Operations Manager in calculating, assessing, checking and/or approving of extensions and other theoretical checks of company system applications.
To complete Quality Assurance documentation for designated design activities as per the company procedures.
General design and drafting office support to Design Engineers and Draftspersons as directed by the Design Manager.
Develop competency as a Professional Engineer.
Provide support to marketing activities.
Job Prerequisites – Qualifications and Other Requisites
Academic / Education:
BSc/Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and/or Structural), minimum
Prior work experience in a design/consulting office preferred. Prior work experience in a construction organisation preferred. Eligible for Graduate membership of a professional engineering institution.
Ability to work with Engineers, Draftspersons and Construction Personnel in a team support role.
Ability to manage and complete set tasks with limited supervision yet able to recognise and communicate difficulties, concerns and issues to supervisors in a professional and timely manner.
