We have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager with a strong Telecommunications background, to manage and develop our supply chain function in Wolvey.

Role Overview:
Responsible for the development of a robust and effective Supply Chain in line with Company requirements and expectations, in conjunction with the assisting of both Pre-construction and Construction stages in Subcontractor and Material Supplier choice, mitigating risk throughout the process. You will also be responsible for managing overall supply chain performance and improving supply chain relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Management
  • Management and quality measures across all our supply chain, ensuring performance is measured accurately and statistically to enable true performance and improvement measures:
  • Interface to the commercial team to ensure we have some clear measurable targets to review and feedback on
  • Interface the Regional Managers to ensure we have some clear measurable targets to review and feedback on
  • Set up and facilitate National Supply Chain meetings for the core/Leading suppliers we use
  • Issue and report on key supply chain issues and resolutions once a quarter to the business Directors
  • Ensure our Governance is issued national and implemented regionally
  • Review good practices and promote use within other regions
Pre-Construction Stage:
  • Where applicable, negotiate volume discount with subcontractors
  • Be part of the onboarding process for new subcontractors and suppliers
  • Chair regular supplier meetings to include operational performance, H & S, commercials etc
  • Explore value engineering opportunity with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure best practice
  • Undertake financial checks on proposed subcontractors
  • Obtain feedback from internal Project Managers and Commercial Teams as to the performance and competitiveness of preferred suppliers
  • Ensure the utilisation of database approved subcontractors
Construction Stage:
  • Liaise with Commercial Teams ensuring compliance in respect of the utilisation of approved subcontractors
  • Liaise with National Build Manager to ensure governance and standards applied throughout the supply chain
  • Liaise with the preferred supply chain keeping them up to date with forecast volumes and forward work
  • Own and resolve payment issues and disputes

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and strategic thinking procurement/supply chain professional
  • A proven experience of a successful track record of Subcontract, Material and Plant procurement
  • A sound construction, technical and manufacturers product knowledge
  • Good written & verbal communication skills
  • A knowledge of Regional supply chains would be an advantage
  • CSCS Registration & Card
  • CIPS Membership (advantageous but not essential)
