Your new company
A leading supplier to the construction industry, delivering formwork and temporary works solutions to a variety of Tier One and regional contractors across the UK, are looking for a Yard Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This business have delivered on headline schemes including Anfield Stadium, and are the largest independent formwork supplier in the UK. You will be based on a large site in Merseyside and will play an integral role within the business which has seen almost £2m worth of growth over the last financial year.

Your new role
You will take a lead on health & safety and quality control, leading from the front to motivate a team of up to 15 members of staff and report directly into the company Directors.

You will manage all safety onsite including site inductions and effective tool box talks, daily task briefings and point of work assignment to site operatives. You will allocate duties to operatives and supervise site operatives and activities, to ensure tasks carried out are within their level of skill and expertise. You will monitor the quality of work carried out to ensure customer satisfaction. Organising and requisitioning site equipment/plant and materials to ensure efficient completion of works. This role will see you liaise with technical/engineering team members with regards to changes needed to drawings . Co-ordinating with senior management on managing works methods and processes which were technically sound, safe, economically viable, feasible and consistent and advise on any items which may change the contract programme. You will maintain daily records of site activities and liaise with senior management to produce information for progress reports. You will monitor attendance of site operatives and check the daily allocation sheets for accuracy and correct reporting of additional instructed work. You will implement the requirements of work safety plans, method statements, risk assessments and other work procedures ensuring they comply with the relevant documentation. Ensure all site operatives are wearing appropriate PPE at all times during operational activities, and also ensure all site operatives are trained to use all tools, plant or equipment and they are using is safe and for its correct purpose at all times. Ensure all work equipment and machinery are checked on a daily basis as per regs and check all power tools, electrical equipment and plant are quarterly and annually put through thorough examination as per regulations. You will constantly monitor ever changing HSE regulations to ensure the company is fully compliant and bringing any changes to the attention of all company employees.

What you'll need to succeed
Formwork experience is not required however experience working in the construction industry in some form is essential. Previous management experience is also a necessity as you will be driving productivity of a team of 15 staff, ensuring maximum productivity in a professional style of leadership. You are highly organised and computer literate and have an eye for detail and productivity in a fast paced pressurised environment.
