Cladding Manager, Facades
Cladding Manager. New residential development near Ealing for principal contractor. To initiate, organise and run the cladding packages, looking at details and technical issues, progressing deliveries and installation. Needs in depth technical knowledge of cladding and external facades. £230 to £250 UTR. 9 months plus on this site.
Cladding Manager. To work on a new development near Acton. An immediate requirement to join this principal contractor working on this high-profile scheme. To run the cladding packages team and oversee the sub-contractors. An experienced Cladding Manager with an in- depth knowledge of the various aspects of cladding to include Metsec, render, Terracotta, curtain walling and proprietary systems.
The Project. A substantial mixed-use re-generation project that includes the construction of 15 floors of residential units for private and affordable housing in multiple blocks
The Role. You will ideally have experience in working on RC frames for hotels, substantial private residential or housing association schemes, commercial or leisure developments. Of major importance is the knowledge gained from working either for a relevant main contractor or subcontractor or supervising them if coming from a main contractor background. Your experience will have come from co-ordinating and supervising the activities of subcontractors and / or a direct labour force on a large-scale scheme.
Background. A strong Trades background, Civil Engineering or Construction Management qualification to a tertiary level is preferred as is evidence of working with and relevant qualifications to do with large scale cladding operations. You may currently be working as a No. 2 and seeking additional responsibility and career progression.
The Company is a well-established Contractor with a good volume of substantial projects both on the ground and in the pipeline.
Project specific. The most important features are:
- Thorough understanding of the cladding and finishing procedures
- Up to date Health & Safety training and awareness
- The ability to organise both direct and sub contracted packages
- Commercial appreciation of the work entailed and end use
- IT skills for programming and reporting
- A sense of professionalism in dealing with architects, clients and the site team
- The skills to maintain progress and achieve realistic targets
- An understanding of the Residential market
- Good grasp of the logistics involved in multi-storey projects
- Good recording and reporting skills
Previous Experience in working on quality finishes on substantial residential schemes, commercial or leisure developments will be relevant. Of major importance is the knowledge and experience gained from working either for a relevant contractor or subcontractor or supervising them if coming from a main contractor background.
Current CSCS certification, ideally SMSTS and First Aid and proof of an up to date knowledge of materials and relevant Health & Safety legislation is advantageous. Good oral and written communication skills will be needed.
The intention is to take on someone who already has the track record in working on projects of this nature and who is able to prove that they are ready to take on the responsibility and challenges would also be considered. References will be taken, so ensure these are available before applying.
Remuneration. A negotiable rate of £230-£250 / shift is on offer. You must be legally entitled to live and work in the UK to be considered for the post.
