YTL Developments UK Ltd has been formed to both develop Filton Airfield in Bristol and to grow to be a major UK player in property development. Already with total UK assets of over £1.5bn and a long history of being an exemplary UK employer in the South-West, YTL Ltd is a global, multi-billion business with an impressive international track-record of world-class construction with large contracts across several continents. Now it’s here – with ambitions to become one of Britain’s largest developers. They’re starting in Bristol with a major initiative on a unique and historic 354 acre mixed-use site. The development will encompass a 2675 home project and 62 acres of employment space plus new railway station, dedicated metro bus connectivity, 3 schools, recreation spaces and community facilities with c£100m of remediation and infrastructure development. Now they are assembling a new dedicated management team and are seeking proactive Commercial & Contract Managers to be part of it from the beginning.

Professional excellence is a given…i.e. a graduate, professionally qualified (MICE/MRICS/MCIOB) senior manager with significant post-qualification experience in construction (including specialism in contracts/commercial management). Essentially it’s about cost and valuation, claims and progress payments, variation orders, contract cost analysis and liaison with colleagues – a classic commercial role. Breadth and depth of construction experience are key, with a variety of exposure to contrasting contracts and construction techniques including dispute/claim resolution. You will be “the glue” between Finance, Development and Construction teams, establishing corporate discipline and correct admin processes & protocols, appropriate monitoring and reporting as well as creating a cost data base. You’ll also be “the face” of contract and cost management with all internal and external stakeholders so you need to be adept at influencing, communicating and prioritising through the whole project life-cycle i.e. project management to time, cost and quality.
