We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Land and Planning Manager to join our Linden Homes South West business based out of our Exeter office very close to J29 of M5.

Role Overview:
Reporting into the Land & Planning Director, the Land & Planning Manager will be responsible for securing land opportunities to meet the company's requirements and expansion plans.

The Land & Planning Manager post is specifically to source land opportunities, instruct and manage consultants/development team regarding the legal, planning, development and commercial aspects of large scale development projects.

This role will be to deliver targets to acquire new sites for the Linden Homes region.

Key Responsibilities:
Specifically, the Land and Planning Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • I dentify suitable land opportunities on and off market.
  • Present to landowners and agents on a formal and informal basis
  • Negotiate legal agreements with Linden lawyers and third parties
  • Procure technical, legal and development information to instruct internal and external parties to prepare offers
  • Prepare and submit Land Approval Packs and obtain authority to acquire sites in line with Company protocols
  • Business development to promote the Company in the residential and property development sector
  • Manage the offer process and provide support to the Land & Planning Director and Managing Director
  • Offer on c20 sites per annum
  • Acquisition of land in line with requirements and acquisition strategy to be agreed on an annual basis .
    Experience and Qualifications:
    Technical / Professional Expertise and Qualifications:

    • Expected to be educated to a minimum of Degree standard or with suitable alternative experience
    • Computer literate and able to use Excel, Word and PowerPoint to a good standard.

    Competency Requirements:

    • Professional manner commensurate with delivering business development and promoting the Company
    • Highly literate able to understand and interpret complex legal documentation
    • Highly numerate with the ability to undertake residual valuations for land appraisals, undertake comparable sales valuations and provided sensitivity analysis.
    • Excellent inter personal skills, with the ability to lead a team to deliver competitive offers.
    • Good understanding of planning and development industry with continued professional development to remain up to date with changes in practice and/or legislation.
