Role Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experience Land Manager to join our successful Linden Homes South region. Based out of our Guildford office, the South region has developments across the south coast throughout Dorset and Hampshire with plans on expanding wider geographically. Reporting into the Land Director, the Land Manager will be responsible for securing immediate land opportunities to meet the company's requirements and expansion plans.

As part of a well-established and successful team, the successful candidate must have the ability to source land opportunities and instruct consultants/development team regarding the legal, planning, development and commercial constraints of any proposal.

This role will be to deliver targets to acquire new sites for the Linden Homes South region. This will cover a range of acquisitions from subject to planning agreements, Option Agreements, unconditional contracts and Joint Venture opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify suitable land opportunities on and off market.
  • Present to landowners and agents on a formal and informal basis
  • Negotiate legal agreements with Linden lawyers and third parties
  • Procure technical, legal and development information to instruct internal and external parties to prepare offers
  • Prepare and submit Land Approval Packs and obtain authority to acquire sites in line with Company protocols
  • Business development to promote the Company in the residential and property development sector
  • Manage the offer process and provide support to the Land Director and Managing Director
  • Offer on c20 sites per annum
  • Acquisition of land in line with requirements and acquisition strategy to be agreed on an annual basis.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Track record of successful acquisitions required
  • Expected to be educated to a minimum of Degree standard or with suitable alternative experience
  • Computer literate and able to use Excel, Word and PowerPoint to a good standard.
  • RICS qualified preferred but not essential, subject to experience
  • Professional manner commensurate with delivering business development and promoting the Company
  • Highly literate able to understand and interpret complex legal documentation
  • Highly numerate with the ability to undertake residual valuations for land appraisals, undertake comparable sales valuations and provided sensitivity analysis.
  • Excellent inter personal skills, with the ability to lead a team to deliver competitive offers.
  • Good understanding of planning and development industry with continued professional development to remain up to date with changes in practice and/or legislation.
