Dependent upon experience and potential value-add of the successful candidate, we are looking to bring on-board either an Assistant Planner or Intermediate Planner for our offices in Normanton, West Yorkshire. Although primarily office-based, there will be a requirement for the successful candidate to travel around the various projects/sites within the region, as required.

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will play an assistant role in the development of detailed construction programmes and methodology. You will be required to provide planning support to a number ongoing of 'live' projects as well as develop into the provision of a planning service during the tendering stage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To demonstrate a good knowledge of project requirements and site constraints.
  • To support development of detailed construction programmes, taking into account experience from similar schemes and information provided by the supply chain.
  • To develop pre-construction programmes linked to the construction programme and taking into account design and procurement.
  • The production of high quality logistic and sequencing diagrams produced in liaison with the project team.
  • The production of clear and concise statements describing the programme strategy and construction methodology.
  • The development of plant and scaffold requirements and schedules.
  • To continually visit and monitor current projects to provide planning support and ensure accurate progress reporting.
  • To obtain feedback information for use on future projects, for example actual progress achieved versus planned programme.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience of construction planning including the pre commencement stage of projects.
  • Fully conversant with computer based planning software, ideally Asta Powerproject.
  • Experience of projects across a wide range building sectors, ideally including apartment fitting out.
  • Knowledge of different forms of construction including concrete frames.
  • An understanding of building contracts including D&B.
  • Previous roles may be Planner or Assistant Planner.
  • Construction experience working with a main Contractor
