We have a brilliant new opportunity for a Multi Skilled Engineer based primarily on the new North Hub FM contract, including sites predominantly in the Inverness, Foress and Tain area, with some travel further afield on occasion.

Role Overview:

  • The main purpose of the job is to undertake all other planned maintenance, reactive repairs and other tasks as directed by GTFM Operational Management and the Customer Support Centre.
  • To supervise and spot check the work of sub-contractors to ensure it is to a satisfactory standard and deal with reactive repairs of commercial mechanical and electrical building services and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned & reactive works in educational & leisure buildings, including minor works, repairs, fault finding and fault diagnosis. Ensuring all works are competently completed to high quality standards and in accordance with Galliford Try Health and Safety Standards, Clients Policies and Procedures.
  • Carry out basic building repair and maintenance including but not limited to: doors, floors, ceilings, windows, fixtures and fittings, changing of locks, door closers, basic plumbing etc.
  • To be fully conversant with all aspects of their qualified trade whether it be Electrical or HVAC
  • Compile quotes for works when required.
  • Attend any tasks issued which may include jobs for which the post holder is not qualified but has the necessary skills and knowledge to undertake.
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • To liaise with other GTFM staff and Sub-contractors as necessary to ensure the timely completion of works within agreed operational targets.
  • Check sub-contractor works to ensure they are of a satisfactory standard.
  • Order and organise the delivery of materials to site.
  • Schedule jobs to ensure they do not infringe upon the client's operations.
  • To accept progress and complete accurately all works allocated via a portable electronic device and update all tasks in a timely manner.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and building plans.
  • Working hours will be based on a rotational shift pattern and will include weekend work and participation in an on-call rota.
  • Attend meetings with other stake-holders including client, subcontractor and construction parties.
  • Participate in scheduled team meetings.
  • Drive between work locations and suppliers (Full lean driving licence required).
  • To act at all times in accordance with the Galliford Try rules, policies, procedures and financial regulations.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Must have relevant qualification in Electrical or HVAC field
  • Experience working in a building services role
  • Excellent Customer Service
  • Time Served apprenticeship or Equivalent training in an Electrical or HVAC bias
  • Previous experience of working within a team
  • Good Written/verbal communication Skills
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to work requirements and willing to accept change
  • Full UK Driving license
