Perimeter Supervisor

The role

Reporting in to the Logistics Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the perimeter of one of our construction sites in Central London. You will also be responsible for all related works ensuring that activities are well managed, organised and safe for site staff and the general public.

Key responsibilities and experience will include:

  • You will ensuring that the site remains secure: supervising the turnstiles, hoarding and be familiar with the site security arrangements and practices;
  • You will also be familiar with a safe systems of work re: traffic management, lifting management/operations and logistics plans;
  • Ensuring method statements and risk assessments are in place for all perimeter activities and stop works if relevant paperwork, equipment, people or processes are not in place;
  • You will also be supervising and monitoring traffic marshals and liaising/Communicating with Subcontractors to ensure delivery schedules and delivery procedures are maintained and adhered to;
  • Overseeing general site/construction activities that could impact pedestrians, vehicles and site staff;


The successful individual will have:
  • Experience of working within a highly structured environment e.g. a military background with experience in overseeing the implementation of logistics plans and supervision of personnel;
  • An understanding of construction processes and safe systems of work on large construction projects;
  • Knowledge of health and safety obligations and safe work methods - understanding the safety risk posed in logistics related activity;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to be assertive and influence where necessary;
  • Possess the personal determination and resilience to stop works in the event of any apparent breaches in policy or process;
  • Have an appreciation or working with large plant and equipment and the procedures and their impact on logistics.
