We are recruiting for an Education Design Portal Administrator to sit within our central Education team, in Uxbridge.

The role is to continue the development of our BIM based design portal which hosts our education design information, design manual and product library.
The development of our education design portal reflects the collaborative approach that we employ on all of our educational schemes, where we work with our designers and supply chain to use innovative solutions and systems to deliver high quality facilities.
We are a leading provider of school facilities with an education orderbook exceeding £1 billion highlighting the significant role we are playing in shaping the schools and education provision across the country. During the past twelve months, we have been constructing 113 schools across the United Kingdom, where over 38,000 pupils enjoy new facilities daily.

Role Overview:
The Education Design Portal has been developed to provide a BIM depository for Design Information, for use as a Design Manual and a Product Library to support the schools ESFA Frameworks. The initial intent is to develop the Design Portal to include all education based Frameworks and to allow access for approved interested internal and external parties. The long-term aim is to develop the Design Portal for use for all the Galliford Try Businesses to allow other Galliford Try business to make use of this as required.
The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the management, maintenance and development of the existing Design Portal, currently hosted by Bimstore, for both internal and external clients. The Portal is in its early stages of development and needs a structured resource for its ongoing management and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full responsibility for the management, maintenance and development of the Education Design Portal
  • Review any designs or products for relevance and consistency before uploading to the Portal
  • Organise the Education Design Portal steering group workshops with education champions
  • Communicate and co-ordinate with Bimstore (the Portal providers)
  • Provide technical advice on hosting arrangements and future growth (via liaison with Bimstore)
  • Travel to various business unit sites across UK to meet with business unit Design Teams, External Consultants and members of the supply chain as necessary
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain BIM content proposals and costs for the Design Portal
  • Be a point of contact between the host, business unit design teams and the trade contractors
  • Review design development regularly with the Education Team and core steering group leads to ensure design and commercial aspects are aligned. Provide training and guidance advice to all external and internal users of the Design Portal
  • Generate and present reports in the progress of the Design Portal performance and usage
  • Monitor, manage and control the Design Portal security and provide access for users

Experi ence and Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will be degree qualified, with a Construction or Design based degree
  • Candidates should have had at least 4 years' relevant experience in Construction, preferably in a Design Management role with a track record of Project experience
  • Experience in the use of Revit
  • Experience in the use of Navisworks
