We now have an immediate requirement for a Senior Planning Engineer to join the team in Uxbridge, on a permanent basis.

Role Overview:
To build and maintain Project specific programmes from first principals building in logic, critical path activities and risk, identifying key milestones and deliverables.
Report on project progress to enable the delivery team to manage projects against time, cost and quality. Managing the programme as a major tool for project contract administration under NEC3.
The planning function will be a vital role in maintaining control and visibility of position on all projects, as an NEC contract it will be vital to the planner's activities to ensure the project schedule is kept up to date with all changes and is reported regularly and accurately to the client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that safety and environmental issues are reported responsibly and participate in improving practice
  • Work closely with the Project Teams throughout the lifecycle of the project to assist and drive the construction of robust and logical project schedules
  • Carry out timely updates to the programmes at scheduled intervals as well as unplanned changes
  • Ensure that the administration of the contract is carried out in a correct and timely manner for all projects
  • Manage updates and report progress against projects maintaining an up to date project schedule and detailed as constructed programme
  • Prepare Project and variance reports
  • Ensure Project Out Turn Forecasts are accurately reported on a monthly basis
  • Ensure timely submissions of Project progress reports
  • Ensure timely submission of programmes for approval following any relevant changes
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with Southern Water and all the Internal Departments and ensure the Commercial staff deliver customer satisfaction

Experience and Qualifications:

  • This role will require somebody with strong planning experience gained on major projects.
  • Experience of using relevant Planning software such as Asta PowerProject or P6 is a must
  • The candidate must be able to develop realistic programmes and methodology and will be able to assist teams and prepare independent progress reports.
