Senior PM required for £170m High Rise Residential development in West London

About the Client: My client has been established for over 40 years now and they provided a reliable, high quality specialist formwork service to main contractors originally. Since then the company has successfully broadened its operations to include general construction property development, plant hire and landscaping whilst continuing to provide a non-adversarial value for money service on which clients can rely.

Operating throughout London and the South of England they have become a well-established construction company with an excellent reputation built on expertise quality innovation and professionalism.

Reporting to the Construction Director and calling on your extensive experience you will provide the overall leadership of the construction/production team in delivering the scope of work within a major work package or project; implement Safety Management Systems;  implement the quality and environmental management systems.

You will  provide an environment such that the buiness is able to recruit, develop and retain talented professionals to fulfil the present and future needs of the business, thereby   ensuring that all projects deliver the contracted engineering requirements using the highest levels of technical expertise whilst meeting the commercial requirements of the growth strataegy.

Key Objectives

  1. To provide the overall leadership of the construction/ production team in delivering the scope of work within a major work package or project to the defined cost, time and quality and contractual requirements.
  2. To implement Safety Management Systems and personally set the standard of zero tolerance of unsafe practices and occurrences to ensure everyone goes home safely.
  3. To implement the quality and environmental management systems.
  4. To ensure that all projects deliver the contracted engineering requirements using the highest levels of technical expertise and efficiency.
  5. To provide an environment such that we can recruit, develop and retain talented staff to fulfil the present and future needs of the business.
  6. To promote the Company’s culture and business.

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

  1. To be the Company Representative across the multiple interfaces within the Projects.
  2. To provide a single point of contact for the client in relation to project activities and represent the Company’s interests with the clients.
  3. To ensure the project team, roles, skills and behaviour are aligned with the Company’s objectives and project requirements.
  4. To establish the team structure, tools and processes that support delivery.
  5. To ensure that the client project requirements are understood and communicated to all the members of the team.
  6. Co-creation and team sign off of safe method of working and systems especially those arising from new developments to identify hazards and unsafe situations.
  7. Co-Production of written method statements and site safety rules and on the arrangements to bring these to the attention of the workforce.
  8. To approve or request the training required for their project team to meet company standards in full, including statutory,  H&S and Environment requirements.
  9. To actively promote and trial innovation in our methodology, processes and products.
  10. To deliver the project within the authorised budget, optimising cost and quality parameters.
  11. To ensure production controls are in place for monitoring, reporting, benchmarking works and improving performance.
  12. To communicate company policies, Quality, H&S and Environmental, to all members of the project teams,
  13. To produce the Project Quality Plan and implement its arragements.
  14. To produce the Construction Phase Plan and implement its arragements.
  15. To co-produce the Site Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) and implement its arragements. Also, assess the project environmental impacts and identify control measures. .
  16. To record and HSE accident and incident as described in the Company SMS.
  17. To ensure Occupational Health assessments are completed for all members of the project team including operatives and ensure that they receive Occupational Health Surveillance in accordance with the results of  their individual assessment.
  18. To provide regular feedback of production analysis to the Operations Director.
  19. To implement line HR policies and practices.
  20. To create environment for exceptional team performance.
  21. To optimise resource utilisation and eliminate waste wherever possible.
  22. To ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and the company SMS.
  23. To remain current and knowledgeable in the Company SMS and QMS.

Attributes Required

  • Able to take strategic views of the Engineering requirements of the Project.
  • Ability to manage the Project  requirements and all attendant people requirements including Training and Career Development, Succession planning etc.

  • Be technically familiar with an extensive range of construction materials and products advising on the suitability for application on site and alternatives.
