My client are a small fire engineering consultancy based in South Yorkshire and due to growth & expansion they are looking to recruit a Chartered Building Surveyor with a building control background who wish to further their career specialising in fire safety. This is a great time of growth for this organisation and a good time to be part of something exciting. There is progression opportunities in the near future to move to Associate Director.
Your new role
You will work closely with architects & contractors to assist in the development of projects & schemes from inception, you will be part of the design stage and assist your clients in meeting fire regulations & fire safety. The work involves reviewing architectural drawings and working with the architect in delivering solutions that satisfies the functional requirements on fire safety.
You will be expected to prepare fire safety strategy reports and review these with the client and the Approving Authorities. You will have proficient knowledge of building regulations and your work will involve using BS 9999 and BS 9991 as well as AD-B you will need to have a good understanding and working knowledge of these codes as this is an essential part of your role.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have MRICS or CIOB status with preferably 5+ years' experience as a building surveyor or building control surveyor, and be able to provide the full range of building surveying duties. You must be driving to provide a high standard of work. You must have a BSc in Building Surveying and MRICS status or MCIOB to be eligible for this role. You will have good client facing attributes with clear and concise communication as you will be expected to attend client meetings and carry out site inspections. A driving licence is essential for this role.

You will receive a competitive salary of up to £45,000 dependant on your level of experience, 25 days holiday + statutory Bank holidays, pension, a phone & laptop will be provided. You will cover work nationwide however this will be mostly office based with flexible working and home working promoted
