We a number of openings for experienced Regional IT Engineers to join our Group Services Division to support and coordinate the delivery of IT to end users and the wider Group businesses. The successful candidates will be based from our key regional offices; this role specifically for Chelmsford/Stratford.

Role Overview

  • You will be responsible for providing IT support to the offices and sites within your region as well as providing support to other engineers when required. In addition to scheduled site visits you will also have to provide remote support. When required you will act as a point of escalation for both customers and suppliers.
  • Scoping and installation of new sites will form a key part of the role. You will be required to gather requirements, produce proposals and manage the IT installation. This will involve coordinating both internal teams and external suppliers.
  • As a customer facing representative of IT you must demonstrate a 'can do' attitude allowing IT to be a true enabler to the business. You will be highly customer focused, owning and managing problems through to a successful conclusion.
  • This is a varied role and will range from traditional incident and request ticket based activities to the scoping and deployment of new sites.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Act as a point of contact supporting and coordinating the delivery of IT to end users and the business
  • Manage the setup and delivery of IT to new sites from requirements through to installation
  • Manage and coordinate 3rd party suppliers in delivering IT to end users. Ensure processes are followed and that 3rd parties are delivering to the expected standard
  • Manage office and site communication rooms ensuring they adhere to health and safety policies and IT guidelines
  • Attend service reviews with the Service Delivery Managers or any other relevant meetings
  • Proactively schedule and attend site visits to increase the perception of IT
  • Ensure all work is carried out in adherence with IT policies and processes
  • Develop an effective partnership with suppliers and employees, establishing confidence and respect.
  • Take full ownership of all assigned incidents from the Service Desk
  • Incidents should be resolved within agreed service and customer satisfaction levels
  • Incidents must be monitored and tracked, with end users communicated to throughout the process
  • Establish the root cause of repeat incidents to reduce the volume impacting the business and provide workarounds to the Service desk where appropriate
  • Installation and configuration of hardware and software to end users
  • Manage and coordinate 3rd party suppliers in delivering IT to end users
  • Requests should be resolved within agreed service and customer satisfaction levels
Site Setup
  • Act as a point of contact for the business for all IT Site Setup requests. Establish the customer requirements and provide advice and guidance in shaping the solution
  • Working with fellow colleagues design an IT solution balancing cost and needs to meet the customer requirement. Present costs and designs back to the business for approval
  • Manage and coordinate the implementation of IT infrastructure to new sites delivering a seamless end to end process for the customer
Asset Management
  • You will be responsible for the management of assets within the supported business units. This will include both hardware and software
  • All assets must be recorded in the CMDB and on the appropriate asset registers
  • Any changes must be updated and records kept up to date to facilitate accurate recharging
  • All processes must be adhered to and followed to achieve the necessary levels of compliance
Project Support
  • You will be required to support and deliver elements of project based work. These will need to be delivered on time and to the required standard
  • From time to time you may be asked to manage smaller scale projects

Skills and Experiences:

  • Knowledge of supporting, managing and deploying Operating Systems (Windows 7 and 10) along with its associated hardware
  • Experience of Microsoft Office 365 including both desktop and cloud based applications
  • Understanding of network technologies and products like MPLS, ADSL, 4G and radio
  • Experience of unified communications including VOIP and Skype 4 Business. Exposure to Video Conferencing would be advantageous
  • Active Directory User and Computer Administration
  • Familiar with tablet and mobile technology with an exposure to MDM solutions, preferably Intune
  • A sound level of experience of working in a customer facing IT environment; preferably in multi partnered, process driven environments
  • Qualified to a minimum of A level standard
  • ITIL qualified (minimum Foundation level)
  • Ability to forge relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers. Must be able to articulate and translate IT terminology to the business
  • Take ownership of workloads and making decisions to allow successful delivery
  • Strong problem solving skills, to both technical and non-technical problems
  • Full, clean UK Driver's Licence and the ability to drive for the role which requires extensive regional travel, and for which a company car or car allowance at the appropriate grade is provided
