This is an exciting time to join a core team at the heart of our organisation. Our current Manager is retiring soon and we now need a new leader to spearhead and build on the valuable work delivered to date in our well-respected and award winning service. You will bring a fresh impetus and commerciality to advance and develop our next phase of evolution and growth. Our portfolio of 18,500 homes and tenant population are at the foundation of our service. We have clear and demanding ambitions to progress and continually improve the contribution and the value we add, to our residents and local communities.  

You will inherit a modern and flexible team having now rationalised our operations from 13 sites to a single depot and stores facility. We have a technology enabled workforce and a positive and inclusive culture with an appetite to grow all aspects of our service. Clearly, the repairs and maintenance of our customers’ homes must also focus and incorporate operational efficiency and value for money within a best in class customer service too. You will be accountable for leading, growing and extending our Construction offering working collaboratively to deliver high standards of service and providing clear visibility to our principle stakeholder Barnsley Council. You will also lead on preparing business cases to expand our services beyond the current operating model. As a key member of the Senior Management Team you will be involved in developing our wider business policy and planning to support our evolving Construction Services strategy.

You will have a relevant professional or academic qualification with a demonstrable and highly successful background in Construction/Property Services within a similarly complex organisation, preferably gained within the housing or related sectors.  You should also have experience of operating and influencing at a senior level with excellent communication skills across a complex stakeholder network. Time is of the essence too in supporting and complementing an exciting regional regeneration programme. Our town centre is undergoing an exciting £170m regeneration scheme and we want to be placed right at the forefront of the housing growth agenda.
