Senior Project Manager - Central London - Multidisciplinary Practice

Your new company
My client is looking to bring an ambitious Senior Project Manager to lead their project based team and to work on major university refurbishments, commercial refurbishments in the City and housing regeneration schemes. The individual will be expected to provide effective leadership to team members, ensuring a high level of technical, financial and commercial control, and assist the management team in account management and developing the client. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join an exciting and dynamic office working across a broad range of sectors and disciplines with great potential for career development and focus on staff investment and regular social events.
Your experience will include:

  • BSc/MSc or equivalent in a relevant engineering/building/project management related subject
  • Relevant professional qualification or chartered status
  • Relevant experience including management of projects up to £120m
  • Experience in a Consultant PM environment
  • 'Expert' level expertise in Project Management
  • Detailed knowledge of a range of construction contracts including NEC and JCT
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to manage relationships with external stakeholders
  • Experience in managing business relationships at senior level



Your new role

  • Oversee an operational workload ensuring work is completed and resources are fully utilised
  • Set project delivery approach and plan in consultation with key stakeholders
  • Work within financial systems to track and manage budgets, highlighting variances to manage and control project delivery targets
  • Manage a number of small/medium scale projects or programmes, ensuring appropriate use of resources and budgets to deliver within deadlines
  • Present risks or issues to senior managers to ensure projects are not adversely impacted,
  • Ensure the delivery to compliant standards through Capita's Business Management System
  • Provide advice to colleagues to ensure adherence to internal/external compliance processes
  • Analyse and review a range of data to identify existing and emerging themes and trends
  • Use your own knowledge and experience of industry best practice to review project processes and policies, providing recommendations that support senior management to improve processes and systems
  • Interact effectively to support collaboration and ensure projects can be delivered to meet expectations
  • Advise senior management on issues relating to own projects, providing subject matter advice in order to support successful delivery in line with project objectives and strategies
  • Liaise and collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure all parties are aware of progress and expectations
