BIM Manager Required (Birmingham)


A major player in the Multidisciplinary world is seeking a BIM Manager (all levels considered) to join their award-winning Digital Engineering team and deliver some of the UK’s most exciting construction projects. They are working with high-profile clients in sectors ranging from defence, manufacturing, healthcare, residential, cultural, education, and motorsport with construction values anywhere from £2M to more than £600M. Location is flexible as we operate an agile working policy, but they are prioritizing candidates within reasonable distance of their Birmingham office. The team provide a range of services in the BIM and Digital Engineering space both direct to Client organisations, external Consultant teams, Contractors, as well as to their own multi-disciplinary projects.

 Typical roles and services include Information / Asset Management, BIM Coordination, and he Digital Engineering team also play a key part in administering standards, making new technology recommendations, and contributing to pioneering pilot projects such as our Digital Twin, Building Safety Digitalisation, or Digital FM programmes. Working alongside our Digital Engineers and multi-disciplinary consultant teams of 700+ employees across 13 UK offices, you will have access to the full spectrum of building consultancy professionals and specialist services which allow them to collaborate and develop innovative new service streams.

The ideal candidate will be keen to specialise in digitalisation of the industry and adoption of process technologies underpinned by BIM, and will play a key part in the continued growth of this service with occasional travel across the UK for meetings or industry events.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Advise on appropriate BIM strategies and lead teams to align with requirements
  • Conduct training and upskilling workshops for teams at both strategic and technical levels
  • Client-facing role, driving marketing initiatives for the team, and contributing to work-winning
  • Support either the Appointing Party or Lead Appointed Party information management function on projects
  • Work with clients to develop an Exchange Information Requirements
  • Produce a BIM Execution Plan response to Exchange Information Requirements
  • Define Level of Information Need
  • Establish project teams responsibility matrix
  • Define processes for quality assurance
  • Review and approve information/models for acceptance
  • Working knowledge of structured information model schemas and open standards used within the digital construction industry

  • Strong knowledge of BIM standards, emerging software, and industry developments
  • Awareness of own strengths and weaknesses with a commitment to self and team development
  • Able to build trust, maintain excellent working relationships, and pursue new business
  • Experience using a variety of software for a variety of applications such as;
    – BIM authoring (eg. Revit)
    – BIM co-ordination / data collation (eg. Solibri)
    – Reporting (eg. Power BI)
    – Cloud Database (eg. AirTable)
    – Collaboration (eg. BIM Track)
    – Common Data Environment (eg. Asite)
    – Communication (eg. Webex / Zoom / Teams)

Qualifications & Experience:


  • Must have some industry experience in a relevant position (all levels considered)
  • Bachelors / Masters / other qualifications in either built environment / BIM / data science or change management is desirable, but not essential

Salary will range up to circa £55,000 PA, dependent on individual ability and experience.
