Your new company is an established independent chartered surveying practice that has consistently delivered over the last 10 years through their ethos that places emphasis on transparency, excellent communication, and outstanding expertise.
Based in Kingston, and catering to commercial & residential clients across South West London and Surrey predominantly, the business offers a range of services to a substantial client base. Services include Project Management & Administration, Building Surveys, Defect Analysis, Party Wall Matters, Licence for Alterations, and more.
Your new role
You will report directly to the Building Surveying Director, receiving a variety of instructions across a broad range of commercial and residential properties.
You will work both independently on your own instructions, as well as supporting the directors on larger projects.
Your own responsibilities will include undertaking a mixture of building surveying duties such as contract admin, specification writing, party wall, dilapidations and project management.
You will be working on a mixture of residential and commercial projects undertaking repairs, cyclical decoration, refurbishment and new builds.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will need to come from a building surveying background, having completed a Bachelors or equivalent degree in Building Surveying, Building Studies or a related field.
You will need a minimum of 2 years experience in a Building Surveying position. Prior experience operating at an intermediate or Senior Building Surveyor level would be ideal though not essential.
You will need strong knowledge of Building Regulations, Contract Administration and specification writing, and practical knowledge of dilapidations, party wall matters, defect analysis and Building Surveys will be a bonus.
You will need to be a well presented client facing professional with the ability to manage customers' expectations. You will need a high level of written and verbal communication, and your technical reporting skills will need to be strong.
You will need to be able to work independently, managing your own workload, clients and calendar effectively in order to maximise your performance.
You will need a fully valid UK driver's license as travel by car will be required for this role.
What you'll get in return
In return for your commitment you will receive an annual salary of up to £50K starting salary dependent on experience. You will benefit from direct management and supervision from three highly experienced and knowledgeable Directors who can support your continued development, and mentor you towards qualifications if desired.
You will work with a strictly local client base meaning you won't be subjected to excessive travel. You will join a close knit, friendly and welcoming team who take a collaborative coach to their work.
Your office will be located a stones throw from the local station, where there are excellent links to South West London and Surrey.
