Your new company
You will work for a Surrey based NHS trust who have secured funding for a substantial £multi-million regeneration scheme across the trust's two operational sites near Chessington. The scheme consists of the construction of a brand new hospital building, as well as refurbishments of the existing sites.
Your new role
Your position is a 24 month interim position spanning the length of the project. You will be responsible for obtaining the brief from the client, write specifications and tender documentation, work with M&E colleagues to understand their requirements and incorporate their space needs within their designs.
You will manage projects on site and deal with contractor queries, manage contract documentation, authorise payments, deal with snagging issues and handover to clients and the Estates Team.
Other responsibilities include obtaining O&M manuals, managing final account discussions, dealing with snagging and defects issues, issuing end of defect certification and any other duties that may be necessary to ensure the smooth and complete delivery of a number of projects simultaneously.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will need strong principal designer and CDM experience, preferably on single projects of up to £5m in value, with evidence of managing multiple smaller projects simultaneously.
You will ideally come from an architectural or building surveying background to ensure you either have new build design experience or that of refurbishment projects.
Prior Healthcare experience is ideal but not essential, although it will benefit you to have prior exposure to hospital buildings and specific regulations and requirements.
What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a long term contract which will keep you busy, and provide you with excellent exposure to healthcare projects, which will benefit you substantially for any future positions in NHS projects teams.
You will be paid an hourly rate between £31 & 35 p/h dependent on experience and you can expense your business mileage.
You will get to work with some extremely experience construction & property professionals, and will be part of a team working to improve health services to the local community for the foreseeable future.
