Full time Electrician Job in Huntingdon. Long term role. £16 Per Hour
As a leading supplier to HM Prison service, Hays are looking to recruit a Full time Electrician for HMP Littlehey near Huntingdon. This is a long term temporary role and you will have the chance to become permanent depending on performance. This role is always in demand and once you have experience and have been cleared/trained, there is potential to work in Prisons both locally and nationally.
You must have your own transport or ideally be local to the prison.
HMP Littlehey is a category C prison based near Huntingdon. It has a good reputation and is well connected as it has links to the A14, A428 and A1M.
Hays are looking for 17th Edition qualified electricians to work for Littlehey Prison in Huntingdon.
As part of the works department within the Prison you will be responsible for both reactive repairs and planned and preventative maintenance. This position will involve working in an environment that can sometimes be challenging though you'll be joining a highly experienced, supportive and friendly team. You will be required to get the electrical jobs done to a high standard and be able to meet tight deadlines.
Whilst you could be working inside the prison itself or in the prison grounds, you will be working with a team of other Trade people and Prison staff and will always be escorted by a dedicated escort to ensure your personal safety.
Hours and Rate:
The hours will be 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday.
The rate you will be paid is between £16 an hour.
Your rate will be inclusive of holiday pay. .
As a Qualified Electrician you'll will be required to carry out various duties such as preventative and reactive repairs and rewires along with small planned maintenance projects. 17th or 18th Edition is essential. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any experience less then 17th or 18th Edition.
The nature of the role requires candidates to be aware of and conscious of security and be able to challenge potential compromises and risks. You will need to be reliable and consistent, level headed and have great interpersonal skills.However Previous experience in a Prison is not required for this role.
Full training on working within a Prison is provided by the Prison or the department.
Security clearance required:
All applicants will be subjected to HM Prison Service Security Clearance procedure. This will include a DBS check.
You must hold a valid passport or birth certificate & photo driving licence in your current address. All applicants must be able to provide details of 2 satisfactory references, at least one from an ex-employer
