Then Connect Appointments have an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking an Export Control Team Leader to join one of our prestigious clients on a full-time permanent basis.

As an Export Control Team Leader, you will work 40 hours per week on a day-shift basis, paid at £60,000 per annum and receive a comprehensive reward and benefits package, plus valuable career development opportunities.

Working within the Sunderland office your main focus will be to ensure compliance with HMRC rules and regulations, in regards to the export of goods, and dealing with sanctions and embargoes.

As an Export Control Team Leader your duties would include:

  • Export control of all machine and part shipments
  • Monitoring and following all relevant embargo/export limitations
  • Maintenance and update of master data
  • Help with the identification and classification of dual-use articles
  • Contact with internal/external teams and partner companies
  • Provide guidance and training on the impact of import/export control regulations/licensing
  • Determine HMRC tariff and procedure codes for imports and exports as required
  • Building up and maintaining contacts with local authorities across UK and Ireland
  • The day-to-day running of the customs department

Successful candidates for this Export Control Team Leader role will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • At least 3 year's experience in export control
  • Experience with UK regulations regarding Customs and Export Control
  • Experience in International Import and Export handling
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems
  • Experience in dealing with sanctions and embargoes
