The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) is a comprehensive programme of works to update and re-energise one of Britain's oldest railways. The West of Leeds (Transpire Alliance - TA) is responsible for this transformation from Leeds (west) to Manchester Victoria. TA is an Alliance made from Network Rail, Amey (inc. Amey OWR), Arup and BAM. Delivering this ambitious programme requires a diverse workforce, utilising the strengths of multiple organisations, skills and technical specialists.
This role will support and work closely with staff and visitors to the Transpire Leeds Office as well as other administration staff at other project offices along the route of works. The primary responsibilities of the role will consist of a friendly and polite front of house service, meeting and greeting internal and external stakeholders and also the coordination of the Leeds Office meeting rooms and the booking of other external meeting space as required. Some of your other duties will include the running through of the office induction to new staff and visitors and include coordinating stationary requirements, monitoring of printing facilities, some diary management, photocopying, scanning and general data inputting. From time to time you may be required to make beverages and set out food for meetings as well as coordinate mail flow in and out of the office. Your role will support the efficient and safe operation of the Leeds Office for Transpire activities.
You will be expected to demonstrate and promote the Alliance values and collaborate with colleagues across all of business areas with each of our partners.
You will need to be an enthusiastic self-starter who is willing to be flexible and adapt to changes as the Alliance evolves, and as this role is a newly created position there will be opportunities to learn and develop your existing skills.
Your qualifications, skills and experience should include:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, although the right attitude is equally as important.
- General administration experience with good IT skills (proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organisation with strong attention to detail ensuring records are maintained.
- Ability to prioritise effectively.
- Good interpersonal skills - must be a team player.
