Your new company is an independent chartered surveying practice providing specialist Professional Property Services for Private and Commercial Clients in London, Surrey and the South of England.
Established over 3 decades ago, and starting with one surveyor acting as a sole practitioner providing residential surveys to private clients, the company has grown to a team consisting of surveyors, architects, building engineers and designers providing full life cycle management, from initial property surveys through project management to handover and continued maintenance services.
Your new role
The company has maintained a steady stream of business despite the recent pandemic, and has maintained a promising pipeline of future business through excellent recommendations and referrals. The business is therefore looking for a skilled chartered building surveyor to provide initial survey work to a range of customers, from private homeowners to commercial clients. Work responsibilities will include:
- Regular residential building surveys, followed by accurate and succinct reports.
- Specific inspections and building defects diagnosis.
- Project Management and Contract Administration.
- Schedule of Works and Specification writing.
- Preparation of Schedules of Dilapidations and Schedules of Condition.
- Preparation of Party Wall Awards and acting as a Party Wall Surveyor.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed you will be a Chartered Building Surveyor with experience producing RICS Building Surveyors to high standards. Ideally you will also have strong experience in contract administration, party wall matters, conditions and dilapidations as well as project management.
You will need to be well organised, used to managing your own workload and driven towards success, preferably searching for an opportunity in which to really grow and develop your experience and professional life. The successful candidate will be:
- Either MRICS or FRICS qualified
- A driver with a fully valid UK license and access to a vehicle
- A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
