Clerk of Works / Site Inspector

THE ROLE

I am seeking a CLERK OF WORKS to join my client, a firm of construction consultants specialising in residential projects in the public and private sectors.

You will be mainly site based on sites in Surrey, West London, Hampshire and generally across the South East.

Duties will include site inspections, build programmes, building regs and NHBC, technical design reviews, fire stopping detailing and Health & Safety.

THE CLIENT

My client is a firm of construction consultants with several UK offices. They have a good reputation and are a highly respected firm working in the residential sector working on public and private sectors plus affordable housing plus local authority projects.

THE CANDIDATE

You will have gained a City & Guilds, NVQ / SVQ Level 2 or 3 or BTEC / SQA national award in construction.

Ideally you will be a Member of the Institute of Clerk of Works.

You will need to have gained experience of site inspections, understand build programmes, be fully conversant with current Building Regs and NHBC, have experience of technical design reviews, fire stopping detailing and all Health & Safety matters.

You will need to have gained good experience of residential construction for houses and also purpose built flats and other residential projects.

You will have a good understanding of the building construction industry with good knowledge of materials, trades, methods and legal requirements.

You will have a good attention to detail.

You will also need good awareness of Asbestos.

Good communication skills are essential.

UK driving licence and own car is required for this role.

This is a salaried role with a salary in the region of £45000 to £55000 per annum plus pension, health insurance, bonus, professional subscriptions and 28 days holiday.
