Sheltered Housing vacancy in Chesterfield - temporary to permanent
Your new company
A well-established and reputable Housing Association are looking for an experienced Sheltered Housing Coordinator to join them in the Chesterfield area on an ongoing basis. You will be working 12 hours per week initially with a view to increase to 30 hours. The hours of work are 9am - 1pm and will have the opportunity to turn permanent after a period of time. The role requires an immediate start and you must be DBS cleared
Your new role
In your new role as a Sheltered Housing Coordinator you will be based at a sheltered housing scheme in Chesterfield where you will be helping tenants from the age of 55+ with day to day support. You will be required to carry out statutory Health & Safety checks on the operation of equipment, e.g. fire alarm, smoke alarm, emergency lighting, emergency alarms and pull cord systems where you will be required to report any failures immediately ensuring all actions are documented and followed up to ensure 100 % compliance and tenant safety. You will also be responsible for reporting any safeguarding concerns and being readily available to give regular support to tenants in order to maintain their general well-being.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you must have prior experience working within a sheltered scheme or offering general emotional support to vulnerable tenants. You must have knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety within a sheltered environment. It is essential that you have prior experience support planning and must be an individual who tenants will feel at ease approaching and being able to offer your services whether this is for a general talk or to helping resolve complaints. You must hold a valid enhanced DBS and be a driver with access to a car as well as holding a valid first aid qualification.
