Technical Assessors in Construction

UKAS is looking for independent technical assessors across a range of construction disciplines, including laboratory testing, building control and product certification, to work on a contract basis.

Becoming a technical assessor for UKAS provides a unique and rewarding opportunity for industry professionals to expand their skills and enhance their career alongside their current role.

Independent technical assessors work as part of a UKAS team assessing accredited and applicant certification bodies across a variety of areas including the validity of technical operations, appropriateness of equipment and competence of technical operations, employees and appropriateness of equipment.

We are looking for individuals with a number of years of experience who can demonstrate proven technical competence in the relevant specialism and/or sector. 

Knowledge of specialist testing and certification areas would be particularly valuable and experience of internal or third-party auditing or assessment would be beneficial.

As this role involves the assessment of accredited bodies, it will not be possible to progress applications where the candidate currently conducts a significant volume of work for, or has conflicts of interest with, UKAS accredited bodies.

UKAS contracts independent technical assessors on a day rate basis and the level of work depends on the demands of our customers.
