We are an award winning civil and structural consultancy with operations in the UK, Ireland and the Middle East. We currently employ 150 people and we are always looking to add high calibre talent to our team. We recruit subject matter experts, and those with the potential to attain this accolade. We promote a culture of technical excellence, unwavering commitment to our clients and a workplace environment that supports learning, development and enjoyment.

Do you want to combine your core technical and managerial skills in a learning orientated organisation? Are committed to delivering real value for the clients you serve? If you answered “Yes” to each of these questions, then we believe you will hugely enjoy working for ByrneLooby and you will be highly rewarded for the contribution you make.

Our projects provide a unique opportunity to combine theoretical understanding with practical implementation. We work for a predominantly contractor client base and these clients require not only smart ideas but practical and buildable solutions. Our senior engineers take centre stage, interfacing directly with our clients to identify construction details, sequencing and methodologies that lead to successful outcomes.

We have opportunities for civil engineers to increase their experience in the rail environment, combining the application of technical expertise with knowledge of the systems and processes in this highly regulated and complex environment. The civil design items include drainage, utilities, paved areas, platforms, signalling and other structures along with embankment and cutting stabilisation works. We strive at all times to develop solutions that optimise the whole life cost of the works and that are practical and buildable in a rail context.

  • A degree in civil engineering or a related discipline
  • Around 8 - 12 years’ civil engineering design experience
  • Working towards or has achieved Chartered status with a relevant professional body
